October 17, 2026 ~ 1806: Births & Triumphs
$60.00

The Gores entered their newly-finished home in 1806.  At around the same time, Juan Cristósomo Arriaga was born in Spain.  His genius was such that he came to be called the ‘Spanish Mozart.’ In Vienna, Ludwig van Beethoven was coming to terms with his near-total deafness, and resolved to carry on expressing his unique and historic voice, initiating what has come to be known as his middle period.  This triumph over adversity can be heard in many works from this time, not least the first string quartet of his Op. 59, known as the ‘Razumovsky Quartets.’  L'Armonia Boston, the ensemble-in-residence at Gore Place, performs this and the third quartet by Arriaga.  Hear the Withdrawing Room at Gore Place reverberate with string instruments as they would have sounded in 1806, performed by renowned specialists in historically-informed performance, some making their Boston-area debut!

December 5, 2026 ~ My First Cassette Tape: Vivaldi & Boccherini
$60.00

Guy Fishman, L'Armonia Boston's Artistic Director, fell in love with both the cello and baroque music when his first teacher gifted him a cassette tape of cello concertos by Antonio Vivaldi and Luigi Boccherini, a composer compared to Haydn and called ‘the Devil’ for his own stunning cello playing.  What's a cassette tape, you ask?  That's okay, Millenials are warmly welcomed here, too.  Join them for long-loved virtuoso music by these two 18th-century masters, selected from amongst Guy's earliest musical memories.  It will be performed on instruments sounding as Antonio & Luigi knew them to sound, by seasoned experts on period instruments alongside gifted up-and-coming performers from New England Conservatory's Pratt Early Music Program.

February 6, 2027 ~ Destare le Passioni: Music to Rouse the Passions
$60.00

Moving the passions of the listener was the most crucial and elusive goal for every Baroque-era composer.  Internationally-renowned violin virtuosa Elisa Citterio can do just that. L'Armonia Boston is proud to invite her to lead us in her Boston-area debut.  The former leader of Toronto's famed Tafelmusik, Elisa is a celebrated master of period violin and a deeply insightful director. She has curated a program of music from across 17th- and 18th-century Europe that describes various passions in sound, and in so doing rouses yours.  At times heartbreaking and at others astonishing and glittering with techincal brilliance, this program aims to transport both players and listeners to realms only music can reach.  Elisa will be joined by L'Armonia's roster of experts alongside gifted up-and-coming performers from New England Conservatory's Pratt Early Music Program.
